Experience
I worked within the NHS from 1997-2020 and have significant experience of working with clients who have experienced complex mental health problems and psychosis. Such clients often experience multiple problems together such as depression, anxiety, low self esteem, addictions, trauma symptoms, psychotic symptoms, obsessions/compulsions, sleep issues and other symptoms representing mental distress.
My initial clinical psychology training included Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic (Family) Therapy and Psychodynamic approaches. I provide a range of time limited, structured psychological interventions including Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems for individuals and couples.
I have experience of working within a Bariatric service supporting clients with eating issues on their path to and from bariatric surgery.
I have a background in delivering further and higher education courses as well as charitable sector and NHS professional training programmes. I have worked in partnership with the local authority to deliver public health courses and employee well-being sessions.
I am an accredited Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner and Supervisor and can deliver supervision that incorporates numerous perspectives including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (not BABCP), Compassion Focused Therapy/Mindfulness, CAT , EMDR (not consultant), High sensitivity and IFS (not a certified consultant).
I have experience in working in TV.
